UFO Sighting Theory - Phoenix Lights March of 1997
Phoenix Lights

On March 13, 1997 hundreds of people saw an enormous object hover over Arizona.

First sighted in Paulden, Arizona around 8:16 pm. It was described as a cluster of five red lights. Triangle shaped. Though descriptions varied on how many lights and the colors red, white or yellow, it was consistently reported as a triangle shaped object and enormous. Around three football field lengths.

The last sighting of the UFO was over Phoenix. Where it was video taped by many people and hundreds if not thousands saw it. A personal friend of mine who I visited last December remembers seeing it that night near camel back mountain. He saw three lights and was amazed.

I had a private brief meeting with Jim Dilettosa of Village Labs and Phoenix Council Frances Barwood while in Arizona last December (98) and listened to their side of the story. I also shared with them what I had discovered.

Frances definitely feels that something did occur. The cover ups and excuses given by people after the events did not make sense. She never really thought twice about UFOs, but after this event has collected numerous video's and books and believes that they do exist and a cover up is going on.

Jim Dilettosa is not sure whether to believe this was a UFO or not but firmly believes after his analysis that the lights were not flares as the air force came out later and said they were. He has viewed footage of flares, their patterns, and brilliance. After careful study and comparison to the video's shot that night, he confirms that they were not flares and don't fit any normal light pattern he has seen before.

What where the lights? brings us back to the term UFO. an Unidentified Flying Object flew over Arizona that night, not flares. Flares were only described by the military over Phoenix.

Many people saw the lights that traveled from Paulden to Phoenix. From 8:16 pm to Phoenix around 10 pm.

Many saw it, some video taped it. Bill Greiner, a truck driver saw three F-16's take off from Luke Air Force Base and veer towards the lights. The Air Force admitted then that they had planes in the air that night, but that they were on a routine training mission.

Later they released more.

I read about the UFO sighting in USA today back in June 18th, 1997 and had seen a few segments and heard stories about it, but that was pretty much it. In the winter of 97 an artist for my magazine had given me a transcript of a 45 minute lecture at the Whole Life Expo in LA, California back in 11/17/89. I read it. It was informative and interesting.

It spoke of President Kennedy's assassination, Majestic 12, UFOs, Aliens, and the government involvement in the matter. Big deal, right? No different then any other material out there on these topics. Well, there happened to be a list, a dictionary if you will of top secret government projects viewed by Milton William Cooper in 1972 during his duty and performance as a member of the Intelligence briefing Team of the Commander In Chief of the Pacific Fleet as a Petty Officer in the US Navy. Whew!

There was two words that has meaning to the Phoenix Lights.

Listed in this transcript was the following:

REDLIGHT is the project to test fly recovered alien craft. It is conducted at AREA 51 (Dreamland) in Nevada. It was aided when the aliens gave us craft and helped us fly them. The initial project was somewhat successful in that we flew a recovered craft but it blew up in the air and the pilots were killed. The project was suspended at that time until the aliens agreed to help us.

SNOWBIRD was established as a cover for project REDLIGHT. several flying saucer type craft were built using conventional technology. They were unveiled to the press and flown in front of the press. The purpose was to explain accidental sightings or disclosure of REDLIGHT as having been the SNOWBIRD craft.

I read the entire transcript and filed it away.

In the spring of '98 Discovery channel broadcast a special called "The Phoenix Lights." A documentary about this event. Note: they just re-broadcast the show with updates and new footage on July 19th, 1999 and renamed it "UFOs Over Phoenix: Anatomy of a sighting."

Back in 98, while I watched the original broadcast with a friend. A particular interview through me out of my chair. Originally the air force denied that they where in the air that night of March 13th, 1997. A month later the airforce admits they flew and dropped flares. I listened closely as LT. Col. David Tanaka (Maryland Air National Guard) said rather stiffly, "Our unit was flying March 13th, 1997 as part of operation Snowbird and we were conducting night training."

"Where did I hear that name before?" I thought about it jumped up and ran to my file cabinet and pulled out Coopers 1989 transcript. I rambled to the middle of the packet and read through the top secret Project names. When I got to SNOWBIRD chills ran down my spine. Here it was, a US Air Force Pilot basically saying a word he probably had no idea that anyone in the public knew the meaning off.

The air force released some footage of previous flares dropped in the sky and they looked nothing like what was seem that March 13th night. The brilliance was different. There was trails on the flare footage and they were uneven. The lights over phoenix had no trails and created a straight geometric pattern.

So what happened? Here is my theory.

Nevada is not far from Phoenix. After reading this, I felt I was able to put together the best scenario. A UFO was sighted earlier in Northern Arizona (Paulden, AZ) it traveled southward. Three to four jets took off from Luke Airforce base and chased the UFO away, as seen by truck driver Bill Greiner. They continued on their path as the UFO was spotted again elsewhere from Prescott to Phoenix. Since it was seen closer to heavy population, the jets chased away the craft again and went and dropped some flares over a heavy populated area to create a major diversion. More peoplewould focus on the later event and by explaining it away later on, people would let it go and forget about it. Hence the operation Snowbird. Create a decoy to divert attention away from what really occurred.

If they didn't drop flares, which believe it or not still seems unlikely that they did, they made it up that they did. So my first theory, was actually giving them benefit of a doubt that they did. But, if you have seen many frames of footage of those darn glowing orbs like I have, you will relaize they are being filmed all over the world. So why should Pheonix be different? The Government always blames it on something, no different then the Roswell Dummies dropped out of planes. We are all to assume as the truth. Mind you we live in a country that prints money with the words "In God We Trust," yet takes prayers out of schools, at sports games, and so on. I find it hard to swallow. They are running out of excuses in my book. So let's get off the flare topic, since I bleive that's what they want us to focus on, Instead of the fact a UFO did appear.

May 6th/1999 I was flipping through the book "Alien Agenda" by Jim Marrs and on page114 he describes, 2nd confirmation here of this term, PROJECT SNOWBIRD as a program to test-fly recovered alien aircraft that is continuing today in Nevada.

Most likely this was a tested flight out of Nevada, Area 51. Or the term Snowbird could have evolved and be used when any UFO is seen, not just secret testing.

Why fly over heavily populated areas? Maybe they wanted to see peoples reaction and get them prepared for the release of UFOs & aliens. Maybe they were hoping no one would notice. Maybe someone screwed up and flew the craft to far away form Nevada. Maybe it was just an alien craft similar to the triangles ones they helped us build?

We may never get the complete truth of who was flying the triangle craft that night, but I believe what I discovered about SNOWBIRD proves there was a UFO and the air force covered it up.

I have seen two other video's exactly the same as the lights over Phoenix, one was filmed by a man in Florida of lights over his home. He filmed it on his own camera a couple nights in a row. Another was seen on a documentary on UFOs on A&E or Discovery Channel. Some of the footage shown looked just like the lights over Phoenix. Triangle ships have been seen all over the world and most recently in Lemont, IL. Around an hour from where I live.
