Bachelors Grove, Midlothian, IL

I had received a call from Monty, a local ghost hunter from Haunted Chicago Paranormal Research and Investigation and asked if I would like to tag along on a trip to Bachelors Grove. I jumped at the chance to visit this famous sight again.

Upon picking up his girlfriend we drove out to Midlothian, IL sharing stories and experiences from previous visits to Bachelors Grove.

Quick Info: Bachelors Grove is in Midlothian, IL and located deep in the Rubio Woods Forest Preserve. Located alongside the Midlothian Turnpike, attached to it are countless legends of ghosts and paranormal activities.

t was set aside as a cemetery back in 1864, but contains plots dating back to the 1830's. It is named Bachelors Grove for the large number of single men resting in the cemetery grounds.

Over the years there have been sightings of:

• A white lady, who appears mostly during full moons.
• A two headed man
• A farmer with horse and plow
• Ghostly farm house with white picket fence
• Strange lights, orbs, and mists
• Phantom Cars-possibly from horrible car crashes along side the turnpike and alleged gangster activity from the 1920'2.

It is also believed that the pond was a famous dumping ground for Chicago Mobsters back in the 20's.

When we arrived it was pitch dark. I had been to the Grove before but never seen it this dark. I'll be honest it was so dark, it was scary.

The energy level was amazing. I along with Monty and Lidia. Could feel the cold spots and energy flowing through and around the Grove.

We took pictures and I walked around with my audio recorder. During the investigation many teenagers showed up telling us their own stories and occasionally startling us, as we thought it might be the local authorities ready to kick us out.

One event that was amazing occurred while we were talking to a bunch of teenagers. I noticed a glowing bar of light about 20 feet away and 6 feet in the air. It was glowing internally and floating in mid air. I said "Woah!" and another kid next to me saw it also.

It only lasted about 8 seconds more and then slowly dissolved into the darkness. This was unique as I had never seen something like this. I stood in awe as it disappeared.

While I won't go into the whole night, I will tell you that upon playback I recorded some startling audio EVP's (electronic Voice Phenomenon). Over a dozen with some of them just flat out amazing!!! I will post these on my website as soon as I get the software to transfer it to the internet.

I was lucky enough to also capture on two prints a glowing mist. This was not present nor in physical sight at the time. All night we took pictures all over hoping we might capture something. I luckily succeeded on two prints.
